Hey everyone, i've heard things like resurfacing particle pearls can sand the particle part right out of them.. Is this true? Or is that really hard to do?

You don't sand out the particles, but some abrasives "sand" the particles down to the same level as the surrounding coverstock making the coverstock less like studded snow tires.

resurfacing a particle ball is no different than resurfacing a reactive ball. the coverstock does absorb oil at a faster pace though and you will need to extract the oil sooner.

As Jeff said, it was mostly earlier particles, Columbia's in particular.  They used little hollow beads of glass, which was pretty soft compared to sandpaper, Trizact, or Abralon.  Sanding them could smooth out the particles and kill the reaction.

Modern particles don't really suffer that kind of problem, though, and they can be resurfaced without too much worry.  You could always contact RG directly to be sure.  

Edit: A teammate has an Oracle Vision that he's adjusted the surface on several times without problem.
