I was looking for a good thread/website just for the basics on dulling and polishing balls.  My friend just got a spinner and I wanted to learn and experiment with him.

Here is one specific question I'd love some input on.  I find my box finish Vicious to be a little squirty in oil and not have the backend finish I want.  I wanted it to handle oil a bit better, yet have more backend movement, somewhat contradictory, so I didn't know what surface to try.  From what I've read, could I dull the surface with 400 grit (for some traction in oil), then use an 800 grit polish to increase the length a bit, but increase the backend?  Or is there something else I should try?  Thanks for any input.
