Motiv Power Gel Scuff does a couple of things really well. As a deep cleaner, the Gel erased belt marks that I could not remove with a regular cleaner. The Gel is also very effective at knocking off polish and giving you a nice matte finish when you want to smooth out a back end reaction of a ball that may be a bit jumpy.

I have never used Resurrection; the posts here rave about it. How does Resurrection compare with Motiv Power Gel Scuff?

You should check some older posts for more detailed responses and explanations of Resurrection. I think it does what Motiv's Scuff does plus more.

Make no mistake: both are strong abrasives. They will clean balls of everything, because it's being rubbed off.

Leave them on til they dry and they will extract some oil from just beneath the surface of the ball, according to both manufacturers (as far as i remember).

Resurrection, will, according to the manufacturer, finish a ball to about 800 grit CAMI or 1500 grit FEPA, when done by hand. For 90 - 95% of bowlers this will allow them to handle most medium to medium-heavy oil patterns.

When used with a spinner, Resurrection will put a high grit dull finish (taking the 1500 grit to around 3000 - 4000 grit, depending on pressure, amount of time and length of spinning) or a mild shine on the ball, much like Brunswick's Rough Buff or Royal Compound or Powerhouse's Clean and Sheen.
