Drying compound sugestions

Today i just bought the product Hook Again from Ebonite and i'm looking at this bottle and it says use a whole 24 ounces each time u use it. and then i go look online and a gallon is 50$ for a refill when i payed 24$ just for the product its self. I heard Kitty Litter and some other products work just the same and take out the oil. Any other suggestions on products? that will save me some $$

That's why I use the water bath method. I just can't see paying those prices. I'm sure the method works ok, it's just too costly.

i do it as well but, the water method makes your ball useless for a week, i recently got the sphere shaped container for the drying compound and im wondering if kitty litter works like iv heard

I use Abzorb-It, buy at Lowes. Can't remember the cost but it's not bad, 10 lb bag is about $11-13 if I remember right. I use about 2 cups at a time. Any 'oil absorbent' works good, nice thing after I use it on 3 balls, throw it out under the wife's Neon. Has a small leak no one can find.

I have to agree with the speedy dry method as well as the hot water. If you can still find it look for Columbia's CPR which is like the speedy dry..

im having trouble finding Speedy dry and Abzorb-it on auto websites and on lowes any one got some good store links?

As well to the hot water way, i found that my bowling balls became more brittle after every time i did it. that's why im switching to a compound.

Any world wide store link will be appreciated thank you

There are several Lowes stores in my area and for what ever reason, none carry the Azorb-It.

well know any auto dealers that sell speedy dry or another brand?

or do i gota settle with crystal cat litter which i think is just the same but its not clay.

Yes, why?????

Bucket is highly effective for me. 1 or 2 baths of 30-45min in warm tap water, a splash of kitchen cleaner, et voilà. I cannot be more simple and cheap than that.

Besides, personally I tried CPR with rather disappointing ersults (esp. for the money). Ball hooked a bit more again and CPR seemed to clean the outer coverstock layers, but it did not last long. Hot water bucket proved to be more effective in many ways.

I also heard that some filter granulates for swimming pools are also pretty effective for a dry cleaning method. Kitty litter works, too, but IMHO needs some extra external warmth and lots of time.

Just go into an auto parts store and ask for speedy-dry. They all have it or can get it if they're out of stock.

Takes 24-36 hours to fully dry the ball out..not a full week, but plan on not using the ball for a day or two if you do soak it.

As for paying the prices the companies are asking..why when common things do almost as good. Won't be brand spankin new again anyway so why pay like it will be??
