If you have a few balls in your arsenal or you play in different houses or tournaments or your house oiling is not very consistent, yes you should own your own ball spinner.
Advantage is you can prepare your balls with different grit and type of sandings and finishes to anticipate the conditions you're going to play on.
It's also great for cleaning. Just to get the scuff marks off the balls after play. Resurfacing, to get rid of the nicks and scratches to get the balls back to likenew condition.
For the price of a bowling ball to buy a ballspinner, you'll have all your balls like new again with surface preps to match your game.
You also can resurface, polish and clean balls for your buddies and whoever and charge them for it.
There'll be cost of course. Like sandpaper with grits from 220 to 1000 or higher grit. Cleaners and polish.
To learn how to do it is very easy. Just try out on an old ball and you'll get the hang of it.
To Master the preparation of surface to score well is a whole degree course in itself.
If you have a source of parts and wish to make your own, message me and I'll send you pics of my homemade unit.
