Ebonite Hook again or resurface?
« on: March 01, 2004, 09:31:14 PM »
After how many games should one consider resurfacing a particle ball?

If you use the Ebonite Hook again system does that take place of having the ball resurfaced?

I am asking because my ball had really crappy backend reaction on the lanes tonight.  I keep the ball clean as possible. I wipe after every shot with a microfiber towel. I use the see-saw before I put it in the bag when I leave. Then I get home I immediately use Ebonite Energizer Cleaner and a new microfiber towel to clean it thoroughly.

My ball is an ebonite predator pursuit.

The Ebonite Hook Again system actuall recommends sanding the ball to 400 before placing the ball in the chamber. So I would say that it does not take place of a resurface.
I resurface and hook again mine after around 75 games and soak them in hot water and Dawn once a month.

I resurfaced my XFactor but it didnt help much, so I used the Hook Again but I didn't sand it down, after that it came back atleast 90%, and still good after about 70 games.  I am going to try it on my Fear Factor this weekend, coz it lost the midlane and the back atleast 5 boards depends on carry down.

If you were you use the Elixir it would really help maintain the cover longer and save time and money on resurfacing or using the hook again system.
