Cover Filler

I have a few nicks in a ball that are not on the track but are an eye sore.  Does anyone make a DIY filler?

How much would it cost to take it to a shop if they offer this service?

You can fill bigger chips by yourself, even though it will still hurt the eye... I made very good experience with a 2 component epoxy putty by Tamiya - it is intended for model kits, but very durable and its hardness, once dry, close to resin and polyester. Easy to use, can be snaded and polished.

Only drawback is that you have only limited color choice, by the putty type: ochre, light blue or light green (almost white).

I repair nicks using clear plug material.  When doing another plug, I mix the material without any dye, then take what I need for the repair before adding the dye.  If I sold the ball and it was used most of the time at our center, I do this type repair at no charge.  If someone I had never seen brought one in for repair and wasn't intending to become a customer, I'd probably charge $5.  --  JohnP
