Anyone ever heard of "Reaction Plus"?
« on: March 13, 2009, 01:31:47 PM »
It's a polisher/cleaner made by Advanced Polishing Products, and I bought a bottle about 7-8 years ago. It's billed as a "cleaner/reactivator."

Reason I ask is that no polish I've bought since does such a good job doing two things at once: Polishing a ball to "showroom shine" level, while still letting it remain very aggressive. Storm ReactaShine comes close, while Storm XtraShine can match the gloss finish but not the reaction. I have not used Secret Sauce or any of the Valentino polishes yet.

Just curious as to whether anyone else uses this. It is legal for use during competition despite it feeling as if it has grit in it (it's mostly watery, pistachio-green color but does have grit in it).

I used it and the other A.P.P.stuff like
clean n' dull,
delayed reaction ball polish
and the reactions heavy duty cleaner.(good for doing a compound finish)

Reaction Plus was great with the CAB block waffle pad.

Its Ebonite Powerhouse Reaction Plus now.
and still Approved for use during USBC competition

I liked it better than delayed reaction, which made my stuff go way too long.

I have a quart of Track Reaction Plus that I bought before Ebonite bought them that I haven't used for 2 years or more. It is probably 2-3 ounces shy of being a full quart. Don't know if it is the same thing as you mention or not, but guessing it may be as I think it was made by Advanced Polishing Products, but I could be wrong in saying that, but I don't know.

I appreciate the info in this thread. It's nice to know I'll still be able to find it once I run out of on-hand stock.

Hey Jess,

To my knowledge, Advanced Polishing Products was owned/created by Al Ahlm (business acquaintance).  He had Reaction Plus, Clean and Dull and Delayed Reaction.

Approximately 6-7 years ago, Track Intl purchased the rights to his line.  During his contract for Track, he also created Clean and Sheen (1000), Clean and Smooth(1500) and Power Wash to add to this line.  Now sure if Del Warren or Brian Pursel had influence on the creation of these products but they were the main guys in charge of Track during this time and starting producing balls with covers that could be duplicated with these products.

After Ebonite's asset buyout of Columbia Industries (Col had owned Track), they decided to keep certain products in their line and that is currently what you see now. Al Alhm is still involved to some degree because I just saw him again in Kentucky a couple of years ago on business.

I'd double check with charlest on this as well.  Hope this helps some...

Rick,

Good stuff. I've used Track's other polishes for years, especially Clean & Smooth and Clean & Dull. Even though I've used other stuff mixed in with it (especially Brunswick's Rough Buff and some of the Storm polishes), Track's line was always my go-to polish in the end because I got more consistent results.

Then I happened upon this old bottle of Reaction Plus I had stored away, and really liked it. I've been rationing it because I didn't think I could find a replacement.
