Resurrection and Snake Oil
« on: July 23, 2008, 12:36:41 PM »
I ordered a trial package of the Valentino products.  Their response was amazing, I placed the order last Thursday and had it in my mailbox this Monday.  I have a Dynothane Energy that I've just never been satisfied with.  No problem getting it to the pocket, but it wouldn't carry as well as I want.  It was originally drilled Rico, but I plugged it and redrilled it 5 X 5 pin up.  It still wouldn't carry (2000 Abralon, no polish).  It didn't have many games on it, so I sanded it with 1000 grit Abralon (four directions) and then hit it with Resurrection per the instructions.  The result was a very good looking and feeling matte finish.  I wanted to use it this afternoon, Wednesday, on lanes that had not been oiled since yesterday afternoon, so I applied the Snake Oil per instructions.  Great shine resulted, and I could feel the ball pull less and less on my rag as I shined it up.  Used it today and had the best reaction I've ever seen from that ball.  I could still hit the pocket, but the carry was dramatically better than ever before.  I wish I had taken the time to throw it before using the Snake Oil, but knew I'd need the extra length today.  When we get to the fall season I'll probably take the polish off and reapply Resurrection - I think that will give a great reaction on oil.  I am well pleaased with the products, and plan to try them on a customer's ball next week.  --  JohnP

From everything Im hearing, looks like Im going to try Valentinos very soon.  The Resurection sounds amazing and I'm always looking for a good tape, so Franketape is on the list.  Hell, might as well give the Snake Oil a try too while Im at it.  Look for my order soon Kevin!

Sorry to take this a little off topic, but I'm a little confused as to the purpose of Resurrection.  From what I've read and heard it appears to give 800 or 1000 sheen finish.  It appears to clean the ball as well.  Does it matter what grit is under Resurrection when you apply it or is it pretty similar to using sandpaper or abralon pads except that it gives a different look, feel, and performance due to the sheen?

Resurrection is a step inbetween a strong cleaner and sandpaper, It's more aggressive then just a cleaner, and it's less aggressive then sandpaper.

So if you have a light track and the ball isn't checking up and able to recover, you would use Resurrection before your next set to restore the preformance. It sands the ball to 800 grit to remove the oil residue and gunk, if you apply using a spinner you will get a sheen finish (So if the ball is an oiler, it will look and preform just like new).

After Resurrection if your bowling ball is a heavy oil ball leave as is, or if the ball is a polished/pearl ball then use Snake Oil to complete the process of restore the new ball reaction.

The resurrection is awesome, and for me the snake oil was good but I cant really tell a whole lot of difference between any of the polishes I have tried.
