Title: Getting the Track Out

Has anyone experienced any problems with ball reactions by using lower grits than 220 to get the track out.  I have used 80 grit to start to get the track out of balls, they always end up looking nice, but never done it to my own equipment so i don't know if i'm killing the reaction or not.
