Gold Scotch Brite
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:25:59 AM »
It was time for me order more supplies for the spinner and I decided to order a box of the gold scotch brite pads (07745) that I first learned about in Brunswick's Fury Pearl video.

These scuff pads are supposed to produce a finish equal to a 2000 abralon pad. From my initial experiments I agree. The gold pads produced a finish extremely similar, if not equal, in appearance to the matte type of finish I see with a 2000 pad. On the lanes, the two balls I've thrown also reacted on the lane as I would expect from a 2000 abralon pad.

So which is cheaper? Gold scotchbrite or 2000 abralon pads?

The gold pads are cheaper. That said, so far I've only seen them sold by the box.

Which sites can you buy them from besides supergrit.com? I would like to find some blue or gold pads.

Actually... I didn't see them on supergrit.com

Supergrit is usually where I order supplies from but the gold pads aren't listed on their site. I ordered the gold pads from here;

Search around, there are cheaper sources. I paid a little more at tcp because they carried another product that I was also looking for.
