My preferred cleaner is neo-tac hook it. To my eyes it's most effective cleaner I've used.

I don't have a spinner so I spray it directly onto the ball immediately after a set. The ball in question is the Fury Solid at 800 wet sand. It just seems to add some shine back to it.

Extremely unusual reaction. Are you sure there isn't some shine/polish underneath the dirt/sanding? (I assume not. I'm just looking for some explanation: this strong alcohol putting a shine on any ball under any circumstances defies logic.)
I've noted in other posts that I found this cleaner to remove unknown dirt and marks that not even acetone will remove.

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me that it would remove just about anything. Lanemasters is extremely potent stuff.

The original instructions on my Track Clean and Dull say (Reading directly from the label!):
1. Wipe a small amount on with a paper towel, rubbing lightly over 1/3 to 1/2 the ball at a time in small circles.
2. Remove with a damp towel.
3. Dry the ball with a dry towel.
4. Do the remainder of the ball.
(I use Bounty paper towels I find them fairly strong.)
Additions:
5. When used with a spinner, you can increase the ball's tackiness. (I find the result on any resin ball, dull or polished, is VERY tacky. Don't press too hard. Still use light pressure.)
6. When used on extremely oily lanes, let the product remain on the ball for a minute to draw out more oil from the ball.
7. To get more hook, apply with a green nylon pad with a spinner for 30 seconds. Mist with water and clean with a clean, dry (paper) towel. (Of course, this changes the surface on all balls except those already sanded to 600 grit, the grit level of a green nylon pad.)
(All notes inside parentheses are mine!)
This procedure is why it's not the best cleaner to use at the lanes when you're cleaning your balls, after use, and just prior to putting them back in your bag. You really need to carry a roll or paper towels and a ball cup.
Oh, there's a warning on the label, not to put a cloth towel with Clean and Dull on it back into your accessories bag or your shoe bag. Another reason NOT to take it to the lanes in your bag.

I also saw some Ebonite Tech people in a short video on the Ebonite website showing how they used Clean and Dull and they also left off the "remove with a wettowel" part. That concerns me because Ebo has said it is the same formula as APP made for Track APP is the original manufacturer. I will continue to follow the Track directions.

This is where it gets complicated due to my wife being the League Secretary for 2 leagues, we don't get to just leave until late at times and my grandkids, getting them rounded up and ready to go home.
I wipe each ball off with the typical mixture of Simple Green/Water. I take a plastic trash bag with 2-3 cups of Abzorb in it. Put a ball in it and close the top then put them in the bag. It can be anywhere from 30 min to an hour from our finish to getting to leave. With the grandkids, I don't have the time to really clean each ball before they go into the bag. I try to clean them once I get home that evening but I can't always ( again depending on the kids ), so if they set in the bag over night, no big deal.
Next morning I use Clean N Dull and done. Never have had a problem with the balls setting in the Abzorb over night or with the Clean N Dull. Might be a bit of overkill but it's a time/have time thing. Every 2-3 weeks I dump the Abzorb and pour in new, not sure if I need to that often but it's cheap and I'd rather do it that way than not have it work due to being full of oil.
As I said, it gets complicated but I've never had any oil problems with anything, No Mercys, GameBreaker, Total NV, Hawg, Toxic, BW Pearl, V2 Sanded or BW Bite. Only ball I just wipe off and no Abzorb is my White Dot.
IMO, the more time you take to keep your equipment clean, the better it is and the longer it will last.
