Title: Help!!! I killed my Viper!

I posted this on the Lane#1 forum as well... to check with Mr. Buzzsaw.  

"Hi. I have a viper pearl. Ball has approx 25-30 games on it and a slight track was starting to show (along with a couple other light scuff marks from use). The ball still reacted wonderfully, giving a strong, smooth break point and driving through the pins. But, I decided to resurface ball...mostly for cosmetic reasons. I lightly sanded the ball with 220 grit (front, back, top, bottom), followed by 320, 400, and 600 grit. I then applied Ebonite Factory Finish to bring the ball to a shine.
On the very same shot, the ball now skids about 5 extra feet and has a very weak backend. Reminds me of a ball with 150-200 games on it... basically acting dead.
So my question is... what is the Viper's original factory surface, and what steps should I take to get the ball back close to its original reaction?
Any suggestions would be appreciated."

It's possibly because you sanded all the way to 600 before polish. Try to hit it with 400 grit for a minute, then put the polish back on. Believe it or not, this'll help.

naw... not quite an inch..lol  I'm starting to think the "Factory-Finish" Is a little too much polish?  Now that I think about it, I seem to remember reading it produced about a 1000 or 1200 grit polish?  Not sure on that.  Glad I didn't decide to use the extender polish!  My other options would be an 800 grit "Reacta-Shine" polish, or sanding to a specific grit (600 or 800) and using a buffing compound to put a shine on the ball, or sanding and using neo-tac renew it.  I guess I'll give something else a shot since the current surface is garbage!

Try using some Quick Cut or something like that or even Ebonites Matte finish just to get out the sanding lines because they can mess with the reaction(I'm not sure how maybe someone else knows and could explain). Then use Black Magic polish, I personally hate Ebonites factory finish polish because it takes away the aggressiveness of the backend on bowling balls.
