Title: Hook again system - how economic is it?
Post by: dizzyfugu on May 05, 2005, 07:06:51 PM
Hello,

can anybody tell me for how many bowling balls a single bottle of the "Hook again" system will serve? Another question is how easy the system is to handle? And, last but not least, how effective is a treatment?
Any "real life" reports and experiences appreciated! Thanx a lot in advance.

Hook Again can be used for one ball. From what I've heard (from fellow bowlers) it works fairly well in restoring reaction. It works out to about $30 a ball (for performance at around 95-98% of original). So, if you view it as $30 instead of a new ball, then it's very good. If you look at it from $30 for one time use, then you won't want to use it.

Hi dansei, thank you, at last! You mean that one bottle of the stuff is only good for one application!? Whew, that's not much. A fried of mine is thinking to buy a basic equipment for our league team - but the kit with the rack and one fill of the cleaner costs EUR 75,- (we found it in the Nethterlands), which is about $100,-.

If this is only for an initial "test" with ONE ball, the investment is fairly high... A cleaning in a pro-shop will be about EUR 17,- around here, so I guess buying the kit will not really be the economic choice.

One appliction of CPR is a lot cheaper and I got two applications out of one bottle.. ( I'm cheap, if I can get 2 for 1...I'm there )

hook again can be used more than once...my teammates left his addiction in the sticks and dirt(as i call it, since we got a good sized twig out of one bottle) for 3 days, reaction came back some(it is a particle ball not reactive).

i use bucket and soap and water method...but really water is bad for resin.
