Is it a gel, or spray?

It comes in a spray bottle.
Originally it came in a small bottle you had to pour on your cloth when Neo Tac marketed it.

It''s a thick liquid. Great product too, I prefer it over CnD has my deep cleaner.
I don''t have the new "pin shaped bottle" but the previous packaging was a squeeze bottle.

Good assessment. I use both Hook-It and C&D, and I don't think C&D is any more effective. They're both great products (far superior to Simple Green, F409, etc.), but I use Hook-It more because it's easy to use at the alley after finishing up.

Neo-tac Hook-it (Now under the Brunswick label) is not a thick liquid! its a "regular" liquid and comes in a spray bottle.
Since I first started using Hook-it its came in a bottle with a screw on cap and a cap with a nozzle, then a spray top. Then they put it in the pin shaped bottle and those have came at one time or another with one of those type of caps.
The formula has changed some too. It started as a pink nasty smelling liquid, it color has changed now and it doesn't smell quite as bad.
Hook-it is still a great cleaner, I think Clean'N Dull is still a little better deep cleaner. Because the gel will sit on the cover better and not run off so you can let it soak in a little more.

The "old" product was a thick liquid.
I'm interested to try the "new" formula but I still have 1/2 of quart bottle of the old stuff to use first.

I've used hook-it for between 10-15 years, it's never been thick. you got to be talking about clean'n dull.

I have a bottle that is about 12 to 15 yrs old and its not thick. pinkish in color smells like rancid oranges and make your hand sticky not to mention ball.
how this stuff was ever oked to use during I have no clue. if the newer stuff is different then good luck with it , I myself won't try it .

As Aloarjr810 said, the formula has changed over the years. The color has changed and it's not quite as nasty as it used to be. There is some additive for tac, but it doesn't make your hand sticky. But whatever it is, I always wash my hands right after use.
Anything that's stronger than the household cleaners is going to be a little less friendly to use. It goes with the territory if you want a more effective cleaning than you can get with Simple Green or Formula 409.
And get rid of that 12 to 15 year old bottle. Who know what toxic sludge the chemicals have decomposed into.

For sh*ts and giggles I took a dixie cup size amount of Clean and Dull thinned with some water and mixed it with Hook It.
I didn't notice any difference but pretending to be a chemist was fun for a few minutes.
