Define "Some Surface"
« on: March 10, 2015, 07:40:38 AM »
I see people talking about "some surface" for the El Paso pattern...am curious as what grit we are talking about.

I would think 3-4k is low, 1-2k is medium, and under 1k would be rough/heavy surface...

I know lots of folks like 500 under 1k or 2k.

Or even just hand hazing the surface with either a 4000 grit pad or a light grey Scotch-Brite pad.

I think "some surface" just means more surface (lower grit) that what you might typically use.  For me that would be 1000 or less.

Depends on the ball and the line you maybe trying to play as well
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

for me.. for example taking  a hyroad pearl which 1500 grit factory polished and taking a 3000 abralon pad and lightly stripping polish off ball by hand..."little surface"
