how to adjust surface

I have an original inferno and I love it, but it was too skid snappy for me out of the box, so I had it dulled, but I'm not sure wat grit it is. I like the reaction better, but the ball has a lot of trouble recovering on the backend. I want the ball to have more backend, without it being as skid snappy as out of the box. Any suggestions? Also is it the lower the grit the earlier the hook?

The lower the grit, the more oil it will handle and the earlier it will roll. FIrst off, find out what grit you had it dulled to, because without know that we dont know what to do. I would say your gonna have them bring it to something in between box finish and what grit your at right now.

Thanks for the reply, I'll probably just go to my pro-shop and try getting it up to higher grit. I just asked my pro-shop to get it pretty dull, but not extremely dull. My guess would be that its at 800-1000 right now. Do you think it would roll out on medium oil if it was at 1500 or 2000? Not sure if it matters, but I throw 16-18MPH with 275-325RPM depending on lane conditions.

well 800-1000 really is not all that dull. 400-600 is pretty dull. You could try something like a 1200 matte finish.

FYI th estock finish is 400 grit followed by Brunswick's high gloss finish.

AN alternative is to sand it to 400 grit but put a light coat of polish on it, VERY light. If it's at 800-1000 now, you might try 2000 grit. 1200 will make little visual difference.

don't be afraid to use higher grits of sandpaper to change the reaction of the ball. it may take some trial and error on your part. try 1,000 grit, 2,000 grit, or even a 4,000 grit abralon pad---all with no polish. good luck !
