How to make my IQ Fusion react like my deceased IQ Pearl?
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:08:57 AM »
A few months back I was horrified when a trip to the basement ball rack ended in me finding my beloved IQ Tour Pearl split all the way around. Since then, I've bagged some other balls to try to fill the place that was occupied by the IQ Pearl, but none of them given me what I lost. I realize that the only way to get that may be to just go ahead and bag another IQ Tour Pearl; however, before taking that plunge, I want to experiment.

I have two IQ Fusions. My idea is to try to change the surface of one of the two Fusions to try to get it to roll similarly to my IQ Tour Pearl. The IQ Tour Pearl was pin below bridge, cg kicked at about a 45 to the right, and I usually kept it at 2000 abralon plus lane shine. The IQ Fusion I'm going to mess with is pin above ring, cg kicked right and currently at box finish.

What combination of surface grit and polish do you coverstock gurus recommend to try to make this Fusion mimic what I used to have in the Tour Pearl?

Maybe 1000 abralon + a light polish or Brunswick's royal compound.

With the difference in Val angle between the 2 balls, you're gonna need to try and make the fusion a little smoother
