How to shine a ball just a little bit?
« on: November 18, 2004, 12:34:06 AM »
Hey guys, typically my coverstock alterations are throwing the ball in the polisher, then sanding it accordingly to get the ball where I want it.  The house has recently switched to just a slightly drier shot, but due to the sharp wet dry moves inside can get dicey.  I was wondering if there is something I can do to just put a bit more shine on my ball.

I know about finger dancing and other adjustments, I just am looking for if there to shine a ball a bit, as opposed to dulling the ball a bit with a few passes with some scotchbrite.

It might be a bit more shine than you want, but NeoTac's Renew-It (cleaner/polish) does a great job by hand.

I agree with Strider Darrell,....one thick coat will give it a "sheen" ...maybe just what you're looking for....

Another thing you MAY want to try, is if your getting too much O/U you could go to more of a matte surface to even stuff out.

Yep... agreed.  Renew-it should give you just a touch of polish if applied by hand.  Neo-tac makes great products for quick adjustments (and can easily be used by hand).  Another option which may work for you is a coating of the infamous elixir.  A number of people on here swear by it, but personally I have had no luck with using it...

Good luck,
