Title: Hybrid covers...Surface Change
Post by: JJM on July 21, 2011, 09:06:56 PM

Do hybrid covers (solid/pearl mixed) take to surface change as well as either a solid or pearl by themselves?
Or does it really depend on the particular ball?

Yes they do take changes very well. My favorite is usually to barely knock the "gloss" off the cover and then they give you an earlier read, yet plenty of kick off the friction.

What surface do you use to barely remove the "gloss"?

Thank you for the tip.  I have been thinking about what I could to salvage my Reign Supreme purchase.

For my 2 cents, hybrids takes changes slightly better than pearls and almost as easily as solids. Not a huge difference between any of them.

All 3 takes changes better and more easily than particle balls.

I use a 4000 Grit Pad and then if necessary, I move down a step at a time from there.

Sorry, I have not checked this thread for some time. I will usually try a white scotch brite on the spinner, or something like a fresh 4000 pad if done by hand. I can always go more aggressive later if needed.
