I believe he was on here not too long ago. Steven, if I remember, made a suggestion about the print fading away prematurely and to improve on that....

Hello,

In response to the printing issue, Joest uses an environmentally friendly ink.  Therefore, it is not permenant on the velour when exposed in water for long periods.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Actually, it doesn't have to be long periods. Just submerging the pad in water to squeeze and rinse out residue a few times will result in the ink disappearing.
 
It's not a big deal. I mark the grit number on the velour with a Sharpie before first usage. Otherwise, it's a good pad for the money.

I haven't used this product and I tried to go to the website that was linked but it is in German so I gave up.  I was just wondering if the pads were color-coded to help identify the grits since the ink washes off?


Update:  found the English version of the site.

Looks like the non-woven abrasives are color-coded.

My experience with the Jost pads (500, 1000, 2000) is that they don't last quite as long as Siaair, but are comparable to Abralon.
 
But they're cheaper than Siaair/Abralon, at least on abralonpads.com. Everything else being equal, I prefer Siaair, but the Jost pads are right there based on lower cost.
