I've seen more than a few people polish up an original Jigsaw (factory finish right over the factory grit) and have success with it added length and a bit more pop off of the dry.

I not only polished mine but took the whole cover to 4000 also. It comes with 500/4000 combo.
Ball is great for the light oil that seems to break down middle of the first game, and I am a lefty.

On the haus machine - 4000 grit pads for a 1/2 hour. Looks like its been highly polished (over box finish). This makes it have better length an a flip at the end.

I polished my using with Storms basic polish. Ball is fantastic for when the lanes breakdown. I don't need VERY dry lanes at all. When ball was OB condition it just rolled sluggish for me, polish gave it some nice movement
