Zapp It: Distance Ball Spray
« on: January 15, 2010, 02:13:42 PM »
Has anyone used the Distance Ball Spray and is it supposed be like a polish but in a spray? Description on the website makes it seems that way.

Have some, tried it. It goes on like water, not like polish. There's a spray that removes after you're finished bowling. I tried it once, didn't seem to get much more length. YOu spray it on, let it dry, and wipe the ball off. It's legal for use during bowling. The labels says "it seals the ball's surface from oil". I guess that means it prevents the ball from absorbing oil. Supposed to get 4-5' more length. That's a lot. I suppose I should try it again, to be fair.

It's part of a 3 bottle test kit that also includes a similar spray to get the ball to grab earlier on lanes that are more oily than you expected. The 3rd bottle is a remover for both of those sprays. They go on easily, like water.

Got a follow up yet, Charles? (Or anyone)

Or does anyone know of something similar for a VERY mild polish--that is easily taken off?

Sorry, I have not tried it again.

The problem is waiting for it to dry by itself, during bowling. It's water and you spray the entire ball. It takes a frame or two to do this. meanwhile you've got to use another ball, but the one you are using it one is the one that had been working. Maybe its better to test this spray in practice sessions. Funny, I still have the original 3 sample bottles: distance, insta-grip, and remover.

Is it on the USBC approved list to use during competition?

Thanks charles. Now that I think about it, I feel it would be an awkward transition as it wears off(& like you said... who wants to take a 15-20min break in between frames to put it back on to keep it consistent).

Yes it is Scott
