Stupid ?????
« on: March 10, 2005, 05:02:37 PM »
I Just bought a new plastic spare ball. For once I want to take care of it.Would I be better off using polish on it?To clean it should I use clean and polish, or something like Simplegreen? I used it at a house that is dirty.I have all black belt marks on it.I know what to use on my Particle, reactive, pearlized and dull balls. I just don't want to strip any polish off of the ball. Thanks for the help,I know it;s a stupid question!!

Using Simple Green on a plastic ball that won't absorb any oil would be useless, I would recommend sticking with something that will polish but I doubt you will lose a lot on the ball unless you are forced to use your spare ball for both your strike and spare shots. I've had my spare ball for over 7 months and used it in probably 225 plus games this year between practice, tournaments and leagues and I've yet to see a loss of factory finish or performance in it...

Plain old rubbing alcohol and elbow grease do a good job of removing belt marks and surface dirt, without affecting the ball's surface.  No, alcohol doesn't do much for oil, but that's not what you're after.  --  JohnP

i clean my plastic ball with simple green( just like the other bowling balls ) and make sure it gets a full cycle in the lustrekleen machine every month.
