In order to achieve max hook  should I sand parallel or perpendicular to my track ?

IMO depends on the setup of the ball. Perpendicular would promote an early "bite" and consequentialy break point and hook, even though the ball will have a more arcing reaction shape. Good extra traction for a heavy oil ball. Parallel to track promotes skid in the front part, and as the ball flares it will add some extra bite for the back end. Hard to tell which yields "max hook", since hook alone does not define a ball's utility. It needs to work on the lane, not cover 39 boards back and forth.

I think both ways or crosshatch pattern is best.

Place the ball in the spinner with the bootie at the very top. By doing this the sanding lines will be perpendicular to your track throughout the balls total flare

ive always been taught to start one direction, then rotate the ball 90 degrees and once again. so you form little "teeth" on the surface on the ball.
