This will be scorned by some, ( the use of my hands) but here is the way I have been doing it for 2-3 years now and always get a very clean, very tacky ball.
-Pour a line across the portion of the ball.
-Rub it all around the exposed side of the ball, I keep rubbing not allowing it to dry out/into the ball, surface stays slimy for about 1 minute.
-Take a wet towel and without much pressure go over the ball with spinner on (don''t burn it in like a polish. some people get a slight shine on the ball doing it that way) for about 20-30 seconds.
- Take dry towel and with light pressure (spinner on) clean the ball of any water/cleaner that is left.
-Turn over and repeat steps.
What you will come out with is a very tacky and clean bowling ball. I have tried the method of letting it sit and kinda evaporate in areas, and I have found the method i use above seems to get the ball much cleaner and looks as though it cleans deeper into the ball, because any oil shine that was present is gone and the ball looks new if it is dull(much easier to tell how well it cleaned)
Alot of people will say that you shouldn''t get this stuff on your hands. I don''t feel there is any danger to it, i get solvent and way worse stuff on my hands nearly every day from my type of work, and this is the least thing i am worried about. You could wear some latex gloves if you wanted.
This is a fail proof method. Oh and (J-w) my C&D is over 2 years old and it does not seem to be any different than new, so nothing to worry about.
