go and check either ball reviews or storm website for the oob finish then bring it down a couple of steps then back up for instance if its 2000 polish then bring it down to 400 with scotch brite then 600 scotch brite then 1000scotch brite and then sand to 1500 then 2000 and finally add a polish on top of that etc

Most polished Storm balls are finished at 1500 grit polish.

Storm advises to use compound step#2 to get it back to this finish. Unfortunately this only comes in a big bottle.

I use a 1000 grit Abralon pad before applying step#2. It's equal to 550 U.S grit, but with smoother finish.

How far you take it down in grit before you go up again, depends on the condition of the ball. With a full resurface including oil extraction I bring it down to 180 grit Abralon.(180-360-500-(800)-1000-step#2)

Look at the shine for knowing how long you have to use step#2. I start with a light application and repeat until the desired reaction is reached. If you have done it a few times, then your experience will tell you when the desired shine is reached.

Good Luck

When you buy the Gravity Shift as I recently have, there should be a little piece of paper included in the box. This paper includes stuff like coverstock, weight block, flare potential and that stuff, but below should also be a little diddy on how to bring the ball back to factory finish using i think something like 230, 300, 500, and 600 wet/dry grit sandpaper then using #2 step storm polish on it. So if you still have the box and the drilling guide with all the papers it should be tucked right inside.

For storm bowling balls, I like to put the presurface before Snake Oil, at 1000 grit wet/dry sand paper, makes for a smoother skid/flip.

For a total restore, I'd go 320, then a trip in the Revivor, 600, 1000, then polish.
