Has Hook-It been changed?
« on: September 27, 2004, 11:14:29 AM »
I just opened a quart bottle of Hook-It that I bought months ago and didn't need until now.  In my long experience with Hook-It, I've gotten well acquainted with its clear reddish color and distinctive scent.  This stuff has a clear YELLOWISH color and smells completely different.  I'm a little leery of using it.  Is this some new version of Hook-It that I'm unaware of since I keep so much of it on hand that I've been using old stuff for months?  Does anyone know?

I thought I had an email address for Neotac, but I can't find it.  The "contact us" portion of their site says that it's under construction, so I don't know how to contact them directly.

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if the color and smell differences for Hook-It that are described here have anything to do with the production changeover from someone else to when Neotac started making all their products for themselves.

I have to admit that I'd be more comfortable knowing that the Hook-It I'm using is the product that I'm used to.

I'm going to send Frank an email at Neotac and ask about this.  I'll provide a link to this thread in case he wants to respond here.

Just got this answer from Frank at Neotac:

quote:
I decreased the amount of scent to the costs of all chemicals, plastics etc. trying to keep the price the same.
The product you sent me was not HOOK-IT,but very close to it.

The part that interests me the most is the part about what I had being "not HOOK-IT, but very close to it."  I still wonder what it was and how it got into a Hook-It bottle.

Once again, thanks to Frank at Neotac for being so responsive to this problem.
