Neo Tac Liquid Sandpaper
« on: March 23, 2009, 07:56:40 AM »
Hey Group

What grit does "Neo-Tac Liquid Sandpaper" leave the ball at after using it with a spinner on the slow speed?

Also, is the EBONITEs Liquid Sandpaper basically the same thing and if so what does that leave the ball at too?

Thanks, JAKE

It should take the ball to 600 grit.

I don't think Ebonite called their stuff "Liquid Sandpaper". They called it
Sand Blaster. It took a ball to 400 grit US. They also had something called Matte Finish. It took a ball to P1200 grit (600 grit US) or 15 microns. Both are discontinued as far as I know.

Thanks guys, over at bowlingball.com they still have Neo-Tac Liquid Sandpaper and
Ebonites sandblaster

also the Ebonites sandblaster is on sale there so I think I will try some. I have
some Resurrection but it has some polish in it which I really dont care for.

Just curious. Why do you want to use a liquid abbrasive on a spinner? I've tried it with both Liquid Sandpaper and Sandblaster on the spinner, and never been able to get a uniform finish with all the stuff moving around on the towel.

Be cautious about ordering product that was manufactured in 2001/2002. Sand Blaster has been discontinued for some time now.

Big Jake, give this a try.  I have been pleased with the finish when using Resurrection like this.  I use a dampened white scotchbright and then apply the Resurrection to it.  Not much pressure.  Four sides.  Have been able to keep the shine down this way.  The white scotchbright does not seem to affect the ball's surface much, but is easy to hold.  YMMV
I have also tried applying Snake Oil after this on a NVS and man, what a shine.
