I here people confused about these covers!
These balls are listed as reactives. Some say these balls are pure reactive, no particle in their reviews and from their reading.
True, but sort of false and misleading.
All of these balls are different. They really are "Non particle particles"
In other words they hook more in oil and less off dry than traditional particles.
The difference is that they are not as grabby on lighter volumes of head oil!
If one reads the definition of the first one(original Inferno) one immediately picks up on this.
"This combination reduces over/under reaction by making the wet play less wet and the dry, less dry, effectively allowing the bowler to create more area."
This quote taken from the following post
http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/67/Brunswick+Inferno+Bowling+Ball.htmSo essentially even though listed as REactive these coverstocks are really a new class of cover.
"Non particle particles" They really do what the particles were suppossed to do. Smooth over/under and do it better on the lighter oil volumes that owners started putting out in the heads to beat particles.
In general according to the proshop owners I talk to particles are going away leaving us with these new "non particle particles" and our still exciting skid snap reactives when we need more pure reaction just in the back!

PS I'm convinced that these balls are really hybrids of urethane/reactives combining the best qualities of both! Urethane more traction in oil, reactive more reaction off dry combined in different ways to create the different pemeatations. Ultimate Inferno, Inferno, Intense Inferno. et al.
PPS I guess AMF's new epoxies will be a new class!
