Which polish shines up a ball the easiest? I know beans does this well but looking to try another recommended polish that puts on an easy shine.

I'm much more interested in what the polish does than in how easy it is to put on.

My Slate Blue Garoygle urethane is giving me a hard time. I used Black Magic over 2000 grit and it only has a little sheen after 4 sides. Urethanes as most of us know are tough to shine, right? Id rather save my hand for bowling, not applying pressure on the spinner.

Black Magic polish has a tendency when applied too hard to clog the pores and retards the backend it is also a non-abrasive polish. If you have a spinner, it may be harder than resins to polish, but ...

Makes me believe you didn't really follow the grit levels of the sandpaper to get to 2000 grit. FYI You cannot skip the intermediate 1200 and 1500 grit levels just because or if you're using Abralon, which has only 1000 before you go to 2000 grit. Try sandpaper and go the full route: 600, 800, 1000 (or 1000 Abralon), 1200, 1500 , then 2000 (or 2000 Abralon) grit.

Still the easiest polish to get a shine is not exactly what you need to do, if you've never used that polish before.

You can also trying rubbing compounds, like Brunswick's Rough Buff, and Track's/Powerhouse Clean and Sheen and Ultimate's Quick Cut and Polish after sanding and before "plain" polish or an abrasive polish like Storm's Xtra Shine.

Thanks for the info charlest. You are correct, I used 500, 1000, 2000 abralon proir to polishing, and yes there are sanding lines on this ball, but...

so do my resins at 500 plus a coat of gritless polish. I was actually trying for 500 grit underlying gritless polish. Looking for a very true even reaction with length. I just didn't have any success trying to polish over the 500 grit which is why I took it up to 2000. So I thought there might be an easy polish recommended to shine this stubborn urethane over the 500 grit surface.

For me, I have tried to polish a urethane, I have a original storm flame urethane and it is definitely hard to polish, but what I am trying to do is get a ball spinner, then sand my flame starting from 1000 up to 2000, then 4000 then use some storm diamond gloss over that. That should do the trick for me, but you are right charlest, it is hard to polish a urethane and trackoholic, why are you wanting another polish besides Beans? I have heard wonders about the Beans polish...

What about just sanding your slate to 4k abralon, would that keep it from snapping, but also have a smooth strong role to it? Have you tried that?

I'd try that also if this doesnt work, figured I'd try the lower grit options first. Less sanding. And I just ran out of beans.

I am not going to say they are easy or hard to put on, but I have the most successful results for my style with Brunswick High Gloss and 3M Finesse-It II polishes.

so your not applying any pressure using a spinner?

pressure makes heat, heat makes for a better polish.

I agree with CharlesT that the preformance on the lane is more important then the effort it takes to apply.

Don't forget that Beans does have some abrasive in it. Even Thomas "Beans" recommends that you don't use too fine a base sanding underneath his polish. I think he says something like 800 or 1000 grit maximum.

I recall, in another post, your wanting 500 grit plus polish to add more control to the ball. Don't forget it also makes you use it on more oil, where a controlled drill resin might be more effective.

That is correct Charlest. But only on reactive covered balls. I have a Liberator on display in the Lane#1 booth that is a marble. That is on the ORIGINAL 1986 Black U Dot formula Urethane.

It takes me 30 seconds to shine a 1000 Grit Buzzbomb to a mirror with amazing reactions on lane. It took me 15 minutes to get the Liberator to a marble. Reactive coverstaocks are purposely made weaker than Urethane. That with the plasticizers added is what makes the balls able to absorb oil.

There is no other polish on the market right now that will create heat on a ball faster than The Secret Sauce. Guaranteed!!!

If anyone would like to send their Urethane balls to me to polish up personally... I will do it for FREE!!!! You will just need to pay the shipping both ways..

Don't know about being easier or not, but I do know that the Sauce dose shine up quicker then what I've tried so far.
