Title: Polishing with grit (Beans)

Anyone have any thoughts on how to get more length from the Illusion?  I am thinking about how applying Beans to the oob polished surface.  Since the beans has grit in it will it bring the surface up smoother around 3000 polished?  Or will the abrasives just remove the factory polish?  Or would it be advisable to hit it with 4000 before polishing?
