Router Question

Has anybody tried this router just wondered since it operates on a smaller circumference if there were any problems. Would appreceate any feed back. THANKS

I think that is Pete Cambio's stuff.

He has been in the business a long time and from the looks of the router it would be fine. You always run into small issues when using a router shield and the plugs are too close together. Overall it looks like a good unit.

Nothing beats an Innovative Plug Cutter for the press though. Only if your jig can handle the torque.

Hey Twitch,

That's a normal width I've typically used for many years (so it looks like).  You shouldn't have a problem with the diameter of the shield seeing as how the opening is pretty wide.  Mine has a smaller opening which causes me to have to manuever around a double plug sometimes.

Only concern I see is if your vacuum isn't strong enough, you may get a fair amount of plug falling thru that opening and that might make it a little messy.  But that's a decent price as I normally pay about $75-$80 for a shield these days and have tried different routers up to $150 in itself.

I added a piece of masking tape to cover most of the opening.  That has minimized the plug shavings that exited that way.  --  JohnP
