Title: Powerhouse Factory Finish
Post by: n00dlejester on April 27, 2008, 01:18:20 AM
One of the local Pro-Shop dudes said this stuff is an abrasive polish, so I sanded my T-Road Pearl to 500 grit and put this stuff on...and I don't think it is lol.  Anybody know if it is?

"Mildly abrasive ball polish " from the Ebonite site, hope that answers your question

Noodle,

I last used Ebo Factory Finish about 5 years ago. Not sure if it has changed since then,  but when I used it, I found I had to follow their advice and the dullest sanding on which I could use this polish was 800 grit. On 600 grit and lower, the polish had very little effect. I wonder if this is what you're seeing on that 500 grit ball? I cannot tell.

I suggest either trying 800 grit and repolish with Powerhouse or use a non-abrasive polish like Legends/Lanemasters Factory Finish polish or Brunswick's High Gloss polish. They will definitely add a shine on top of that 500 grit sanding. If you want to change the 500 grit with an abrasive polish, try Storm's XTra Shine or one of their Step finishes.

I will definitely keep that in mind the next time I give this a go.  OJ is unfortunately closed Monday nights now (he must have started summer hours really early), so I can't fix it tomorrow.  But I'm gonna definitely check it out at whatever finish it is now, haha, and then fix it.
