powerhouse/track power wash
« on: June 08, 2008, 08:10:27 AM »
i tried searching and just cant seem to find out the difference in powerhouse cleaners.

ive tried energizer and cnd.

but power wash says it increases backend and overall hook.

so.... 2 questions:

how does it increase backend and hook?

just how much change is there with this cleaner? (i dont want to modify surface after spending so much time on the spinner perfecting the grit level i want.)

hmmmm no one has this stuff?

its no big deal as I have some arriving tomorrow so i can find out myself... but like i said i dont want it to drastically alter the surface. if it just makes the ball extra tacky or something to that effect then im fine with that.

Id still just rather know what it does before i try it out.

It doesn't do that anymore than most cleaners do. The claim is just a sales pitch. On normal conditions, a clean ball will perform better on the back end, so any ball cleaner will aid the ball to a point in having a better backend, some better than others depending on how well the cleaner cleaned the ball. If you want a spray on cleaner for cleaning your ball at the lanes when done bowling and one that cleans your ball better than most cleaners, then try the Legends/Lanemaster cleaner or the Ultimate Black Magic Rejuvinator cleaner as they are the 2 best cleaners available.

The Clean and Dull is a deep cleaner for cleaning your ball every 15-20 or so games, depending on the conditions you bowl on. I have found that by using the Legends/Lanemaster cleaner or the Ultimate Black Magic Rejuvinator cleaner very generously at the lanes after each bowling session, the need for Clean and Dull is not as necessary as it is if you use other cleaners to clean your balls.

already have both black magic rej. and clean and dull as well as lanemasters.

im just a little tired of cleaning my balls really fast only to have the thumb get a little tacky as well.
not a big deal as now I take a toothbrush with alcohol and clean the thumbhole later.

its just something I wanted to try... lanemasters cleaner will never be used by me again EVER:

1. it triggers my migraines.

2. the smell is so bad and the claims on the bottle suggest its very bad for your health. BUT damn does it clean a bowling ball.

the rejuvenator is great and it really does do a good job and it even lasts a very long time.

im also hoping this stuff works good on my spinner because ive been cleaning my balls on the spinner because i had a bad day where my bottle of rejuvenator broke in my bag so i dont keep botles with me anymore.. (i keep my balls in the back of the pickup and sometimes the bottle can get crushed) plus the spinner cleans great and keeps me dry (i like to use a cleaner followed by water)

Wad up a paper towel and stuff it in the thumb hole before you start cleaning.

I do agree about the odor of the Lanemaster cleaner.  Instead of spraying it on the ball, try removing the sprayer and pour a little on your towel.  That keeps a lot of the odor down.  --  JohnP

Power wash smells good. I use it after every set, and also at home on my spinner for quick jobs. Removes oil lines, belt marks etc. and leaves ball nice and tacky. I use clean and dull with a worn 4000 abralon pad for deep cleaning. Remove the residue with a clean white wet towel and you can see when the oil stops coming out of the ball.

Both clean and dull and power wash will leave a slight shine on the ball if you burn it in, so be careful not to heat it up when applying.

Icewall, I agree 100% with everything you said here. I don't use the Legends cleaner either (unless I am out of the Rejuvenator) because of the terrible smell taking my breath away. Agree also that it cleans the ball as good as any approved cleaner available, but to me it isn't worth it to use it because of  the health hazzards of it.

i just got mine in and it seems to do almost as good a job as BM rejuvenator.

it is what i was hoping. nothing amazing about it. it emulsifies oil, cleans, and doesn't smell strong. looks like the kind of stuff i want so i can clean fast and easily.

and i do realize cnd and power wash could leave a shine on a spinner... thats why i have a method ive designed for myself.

I spray the ball with water (just a little bit) to reduce friction

glob on the cnd... and spin it and clean it with my cloth

then spray it again with water and dry it with medium pressure from a dry cloth.
