Quantum ball specifications
« on: December 02, 2003, 11:40:26 PM »
Hi all,

Just returning to bowling after a 15 year hiatus your site has been very helpful to my indoctrination back into our sport.

Again just getting back into the sport I picked up a used ball out of a pro shop here in Shreveport. The ball is maroon in color and has the name Quantum printed on it.  There is an emblem 180 deg from the name kind of a Q with multiple lines forming one quadrant of the letter.  I would call the finish half way between polished and dull. This ball does not seem to have much movement on the lane for me and felt perhaps I should clean the surface.

After all that ...Can anyone indentify the manufacturer of this ball or let me know what type of coverstock it may posess?

Any help would be appreciated.

Gary

Gary, the ball you have is probably a Scarlet Quantum.  The Quantums were produced by a group called Brunswick Technology Ventures (Brunswick).  The coverstock I think is urethane.  Which means now days it will probably be a good ball for dryer lanes.  Unfortunately, you may have to pick up a good medium strength reactive to have any real movement on your ball in any oil.
