how revs affect coverstock longevity
« on: April 11, 2007, 02:57:27 PM »
i hear some people asking how long it lasts and when they get people's opinions shouldn't they get them from people with the same amount of revs? the more revs the more rotation in the oil which soaks into the ball, so you'd think the more revs you have the shorter the reaction will last right? or am i wrong?

More revs tend to wear the surface prep faster.  It's been said that all balls approach 600-grit sanded over time, so f the ball is polished, it will dull faster for higher-rev players, and if it's sanded, it'll tend to that grit faster.

I'm not sure about the longevity of the coverstock itself.  Higher rev players tend to play more hook than lower rev players, so a change in the reaction quality will be more noticeable for them.  A loss of reaction for someone with a 20- or 30-board swing means they just took out the 3-pin.  A loss of reaction for someone with a 10-board swing means they just came in light and left a 5-pin.

ya, idk its just what i was thinking about because not a ton of people are higher rev players, a lot of them that i see just play up 2nd arrow so do u think i should get opinions from people with my rev rate which is 250-300 i think, its a guess but its up there.
