Simple Green

Is this the best product for general cleaning?  Can you use it right out of the bottle or should it be cut with water?

After using this for a while, what would be the best product to use for deep cleaning?  Also, how often should a ball be "deep" cleaned?

Thanks for the help.

Mixed 50% water and 50% Simple Green, it is at least as good as any cleaner made for bowling balls and at a fraction of the cost.

Track Clean & Dull is one of the best and one of the most popular cleaners out there.. Neo Tac Hook-It is also a good cleaner, but it is also sort of a dangerous cleaner to work with. You have to wear gloves when using it, it gives off fumes, it will melt your finger grips if you get any on them, ditto for Vinyl slugs and any plastic it touches. I used to use the Hook-It until I discovered Track Clean & Dull. Track Clean & Dull is safe to use and it will not change the cover on balls. It leaves shiney balls shiney and dull balls dull.

i like the simple green solution----simple, cheap, and it works. the best cleaner, however, isn't usbc sanctioned. tenth frame products ultra clean will get off almost any residue on the ball but it isn't certified because it contains acetone. yet, it's still made, marketed, and sold by pro shops. ???

Despite all the mourning from other sources, I am a big fan of household all-purpose cleaners, too. They just have to be mild - no professional stuff. I made very good experience with Mr. Clean Orange kitchen cleaner, leaves a tacky ball. I use it for everyday cleaning, after every 1 or 2 game sessions (baout 10-15 games)

Besides, my pro shop guy mentioned that, besides a lot of cleaning products from manufacturers, the best way to keep a ball clean is a mild mixture of water and a mild cleaning detergent or soap. And I can only underline this.

For deep cleaning I use the "ball-with-warm-water-in-the-bucket-with-some-APC" method. Works very well, too, and I do it about every half year, or when I feel that a ball loses hook and takes on a fatty glaze when it is soaked up. Frequency depends on the lanes I play, but every 6 months is a routine which has worked for me so far. Must be about every 50 games per ball.

For general day to day cleaning, I don't think there's a much better, for the price, cleaner than Simple Green and water. I sell Storm, Ebonite cleaners to my customers and tell them about the SG/H2O, but some folks are 'set' on a brand thing, so be it.

For a 'deep' cleaning, I use Clean N Dull, CPR or for my balls, I let the sun 'bake' out the oils then a good Clean N Dull , but that's just me. You'll find there are almost as many ways to do this as there are bowlers. Just like balls, we all have our ways to do things. I'd suggest you get some Simple Green, try it. If you like it, there's your plan. If not, try Clean N Dull.

If you want to spend some money, get some Masters Lane Cleaner, mix it with water and there's not much that stuff won't take off, but it's NOT cheap and a little makes a lot ! so be prepared for the 'sticker shock' . I have found a formula I like, took me a while, but it takes off everything...belt marks, junk...small creatures that ruin my game, just about everything except for the little guy in my head that tells me I can shoot a 300 every time I pick up my ball ! I wipe the ball off with alcohol after to dry up any excess.

I have sold several bottles to people in my area and no one has said anything bad about it as of yet. Some have wanted more, so I guess I did something right, for once.

Just my 2 cents worth.
