The L/LM cleaner smells like a very very very strong finger nail polish remover. Its the same smell, just very strong. But I do gotta say it works
Excellent.
As far as stuff to use. You can find most of your SB stuff at your local Sherwin Williams or Car detailing shop. And the cheapest place I've found to get abrolon pads is at
www.supergrit.com . I have L/LM factory Finish Polish, Powerhouse Factory Finish, and Beans Secret Sauce and I like the L/LM better.
With Powerhouse the ball reacted very strong and sharp off the spot, and with the L/LM (LM's doesn't contain Abraisives, Powerhouse does) The ball got down the lane similar but didnt turn as sharp and to me was more controllable. The beans sauce I haven't got to try yet.
I'd get some surface adjustment pads first, especially your higher stuff (800, 1000, 2000, 4000), and a few more course pads for a good resurfacing (320-360, and maybe a 500). I like the feel and reaction a ball gives me of a higher grit sheen finish than that of a polished finish anyway. You can get polishes and stuff later.
