Recommendations for Residue-free Polish

Has anyone found a polish that doesnt leave the white residue around the finger/thumb inserts? I thought maybe the gel-type polishes would be a good candidate. I've been using the Lane Masters Factory and Extended Length polishes for years.

I've tried quite a few polishes, Pat. Unless you remove the polish with the same cloth as you apply it, some little bit is going to catch in those little crevices and dry white. Since I don't glue my inserts all the way around, I often lift the unglued edges and clean away the dried polish with an old, clean toothbrush. If you can't pull the edge of the insert away from the side of the hole, put some alcohol on the toothbrush and brush into the crevice. I also clean out the dried polish from the indents made by the USBC markings and the serial number and other labels in this way.

you won't find a polish, or compound that doesn't leave a residue....it is just the nature of the product.

Whether it is gel, oil, water, solvent, or petroleum it is going to get into finger/thumb holes. As you apply pressure with a cloth, the rim of the thumbhole or raised insert is just enough to create a squeegee like edge.

Some of our customers take a ripped papertowel and stuff it into the thumb/finger holes, then once they are done polishing they take a pair needle nose pliers and pull out the papertowel wiping the inside surface.

Most of the time what I find INSIDE the finger/thumb holes after buffing the ball is lint from the towel, not polish. You have to be really messy and sloppy to get polish inside the holes. I use that same toothbrush, wet with alcohol to clean out the holes, which is good to do, in any case, on a regular basis.
