Friend of mine has a 900 Global Desert Opps drilled a little strong. He throws slower and has a hard time adjusting when the ball is hooking a lot. Last time I sanded the ball up to 4000 and then put Black Magic XXX polish on it. This was a few weeks ago and he wants me to see if I can take more off. Have some 5000 pads coming. Should I just leave it at 5000 or add the polish again ? Thinking the 5000 might still hook a little more but be smoother.

Try Vises Slip Agent. Keep the base grit the same.

Yes, an After Dark would work as well. Go 2 inch pin to pap and camp in the track all day.

Check with your local auto parts dealer for wet/dry sandpaper used for sanding before painting.  I took a quick look at Amazon.com and found grits up to 7000, but they were packaged with a selection of grits.  You might find something at WalMart, also.  --  JohnP

Well the nuclear bomb to make a ball go straight is turtle wax if you don't bowl sanctioned.  Learned that with my little one to help him keep his ball on the lane.  Of course a 50 to 60 foot long skid phase doesn't give great carry.

Sanctioned. I think he needs to learn to adjust or throw a little faster. Too “cheap” to buy a new ball. He was having trouble picking up 10 pins so started using a house ball. Me ant 2 other teammates bought him a plastic ball for his retirement gift.

if hes an older gentleman, i wouldn't push to harder about the throwing faster.  If he's too cheap to buy a new ball, which is fine although the afterdark is lowest price point for a reactive ball, he'll just have to learn to play in the oil more

take the ball to his pro shop driller they could pop oa small wt hole to take out some side wt
