Get a buck of hot tap water and put a mild degreaser (like Dawn).  Then put the bowling ball in the bucket for 20 minutes and then repeat these steps once.  Make sure you put duck tape over the holes.

You can even use a hairdryer on it.Then wipe it with a little simple green.
