best way to remove polish?

What is the best way to remove polish off a bowling ball with out changing the surface all that much?

I am thinking a very very light sanding like 4000 abralon and very little..or a green scotch brite for a few passes...

Suggestions would be great

The only way to take off most polishes is to to apply an abrasive, because they burn in. Green scotch-brite pad will work, just spin the ball at low and apply a dry pad for about 4/5 seconds.

Any abrasive will remove the polished layer.

Most times it's safest to sand with the grit level of the underlying grit level, unless you used an abrasive which will have changed the underlying base.

If it was 600 grit + polish, sand with a 600 grit sandpaper or a green nylon pad.

If it was 2000 grit Abralon + polish, sand with a 2000 grit abralon pad.
If it was 4000 grit Abralon .... etc.
