Title: resurfacing question
Post by: heavyarty on December 21, 2008, 12:26:24 PM
i was doing a resurface on a classic zone and i noticed that many tiny white dots started appearing on the cover of the ball, is this normal?

Don't know if we're talking about the same thing happening, but when I do light resurfaces of stuff that has pits/scratches/etc. in the cover due to use, if I'm using a polish that acts like a wax, I'll get white dots where the pits and scratches are, and that's the wax material getting lodged in the holes.

Some dark coverstocks, however, have white streaks in them -- is that what you're referring to?

Sounds like you're just getting the wax/polish material in the pit holes.

I agree.. the white dots are just the sanding dust or polish getting stuck in the small pits in the cover.  Try to clean the surface and see if they go away.
