Riddle me this... Hand versus Spinner
« on: August 15, 2005, 09:54:16 AM »
Would this be a correct assumption?

When polishing or scuffing a ball with scotchbrite is it assumed that the final surface, when done by hand, will be less polished or scuffed than if the same technique was done on a spinner?

True, unless you, by hand , can spin a ball on something evenly over the entire surface.

Nope, maybe I should inquire about renting a retired Harlem Globetrotter?

Try a stable bar stool.

Perhaps one could find a inexpensive potter's wheel.

In all seriousness though would that be a correct way of thinking?

If you can keep the wheel at an even ( as much as possible) speed, that would work. I don't think I'd try to do much more than SB pads, but it would work.

Spinners are not that expensive, I bet you'll pay almost as much for a potters wheel, just thinking out loud.

If I hadn't been given 45 days or so to move out of my brother's place I'd be right on a spinner.  Unfortunately I'll soon be in limbo and not sure how to afford many luxuries of this hobby of mine.
