Rough Buff

I'm sure someone has posted info on this stuff.  but since the
search feature only goes back 30 days...there was nothing.

Question..Brunswick says that the OOB on the Wild Ride is "Rough Buff"
What is the grit results on the ball after you have used it?

Can you use an Abralon Pad and get the same results or at least close
to the Rough Buff?

Something close to a new 4000 abralon or a worn 2000 abralon if my memory is correct.

Agree with Lane.

Remember, Rough buff is abrasive rubbing compound. Your final results depends not only on what you start with (the grit level on the ball) but also on how much you apply, how hard you press and for how long you run the spinner. with all those variables, the results can vary considerably from person to person.

Good point, charlest. I forgot to mention spinner speed, amount of water used, hand pressure, etc. will all have a direct bearing on the outcome.

For myself, I try to err on the side of more speed and water with less hand pressure, only because I'm not terribly fond of sanding lines.

Lane,

Regarding the new 4000 Abralon pad and worn 2000 grit Arbalon pad, did you know there are pads now available in P3000 grit? Both Valentino's and SIAAIR Velvet make them avaalable. (This may be too fine a dividing line for some people.)

That is another problem ...

But then, someone once told me, the stock surface on any new ball is just a suggestion from the manufacturer. If it doesn't work for you, you have to try something before redrilling it or getting rid of it.

Abralon also has 3000 grit available now.
