I think he is referring to the Purple Stuff.  I have heard people claim Fabuloso is the same as that.  It does smell and look similar and I know people using it.

Alcohol softens the cover after while. Lol. I use it after every set but not in-between shots lmao. Lol.

There is some truth behind Ron's purple stuff and wow factor..

I just don't wanna pay that much for cleaner.

In all the years that alcohol has been used to clean bowling balls, there never has been any documented evidence that it softened or harmed a ball (rubber, plastic, urethane, resin etc) in anyway.

The original post is about a product called "that wow factor" which is suppose to help with transistion.

I asked if anyone here has actually tried it themselves, judging by these replies nobody has.

No I haven't. I went through my purple stuff way too quickly.  It worked well--for it it's purpose...But was not cost effective.

Fabuloso ingredients: Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonate, C9-11 Pareth-8, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Water, Fragrance, Preservative and Dye.

That Purple Stuff: Methanol, Glutaraldehyde...

===> Not the same, not even close...

That Wow Factor is a slip agent, not a cleaner. Ball will go longer with a smoother reaction down lane.

Methanol is quite poisonous, toxic to skin. Glad I got rid of my bottle.
Glutaraldehyde is a disinfectant and used to sterilize surgical instruments; wonder what its purpose is in a ball cleaner.
Oops! From an OSHA document:  guidelines for the best practices for the safe use of glutaraldehyde -
". In the years since its introduction as a disinfectant/sterilant, glutaraldehyde has been linked with a variety of health effects – ranging from mild to severe – including
asthma, breathing difficulties, respiratory irritation, and skin rashes ..."
https://www.osha.gov/Publications/glutaraldehyde.pdf

Very glad I disposed of my bottle of Purple Stuff.
