Satin vs Matte
« on: August 17, 2004, 09:25:46 PM »
Just saw a Triple X extreme thought it was polished.

Also then saw description of ball listed as 800 satin.

How does one get a ball to Satin condition?

REgards,

PS posted this under storm also under title Triple X extreme finish.

I posted the following in the Storm column a while ago, but since the question was asked in two different columns, I will reply in the two columns. Storm sent me an Email on this question. Here is their answer word for word:

"the 800 Satin is a surface that is produced here at the factory..... the 800 Matte is one that is produced with a grey Scotch-Brite pad..... So you can prepare and reproduce the 800 Matte with a grey Scotch Brite, but the 800 Satin, which is a bit shinier or smoother, is done here and cannot be done with a regular ball spinner at home..... The 800 Satin can more closely be reproduced with the Step 1 Storm Xtras Compound... "
