Hello bowling family.
How do I keep my Scandal to that dry dull look? I see people hand sanding them to keep it that look. My scandal has lane shine and when I de oil it myself (no sanding) its still shining. I am new to bowling and the maint. part of this. Do I need to do a resurface after every de oil. Please help me.

With every high performance oil ball they lane shine fairly quick and the surface needs to be refreshed every 6-10 games or so. De-oiling the ball will not change the surface

a quick fix can be have your pro shop operator put clean & dull on the spinner and then after 20 games, then hit it with a fresh 2000 abralon pad. It is important to maintain your surface to allow the ball to last longer.
Hope this helps...

How long will a high grip ball typically last, if you bowl 6-10 games a week?

If you don't have a bowling ball spinner your local shop should be able to help.
Box finish is 500/2000. Most surface finishes like this last 3-6 games before a noticeable loss in reaction. Depending on the conditions the lane shine surface may work better. Have to judge for yourself.
