Super Charge dead?
« on: March 25, 2005, 10:20:05 AM »
I clean my equipment religiously after every session with 409, but my Super Charge seems to have lost most of it's reaction. This ball is one year old and just seems to want to hang out a bit and never finish. Shooting 548 last week was the last draw and now I don't know what to do. Have also tried Hook-It but didn't really see much difference. Is there anything else cleaner wise other than baking and the dish washer? All opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

How many games does it have on it total? If there is a good track in the ball resurface it.

Also what is the cover at on the ball?

Im thinking you might be bowling on light oil and the ball is burning up.

The ball has approximately 120 games on it. Sorry I omitted that.

The ball is out of the box finish, which I believe it 800 grit matte.

You keep it at 800 grit matte with a Scotch brite pad then?

I bet it is rolling out which means using to much energy before the pins then just rolls straight at the end.

Actually I haven't done anything to the surface at all except clean it with 409 and change the grips.

The Super Charge flares a ton and can roll out very easy.  How is it drilled?  If it doesn't need a resurface and the cover is clean, add a coat of polish and see how it reacts.  It should skid further and save it's hook for the back part of the lane.

Also, do you have another ball to throw on the same lanes?  If a light oil ball (Scout Reactive, for example) hooks a decent amount, there isn't near enough oil to throw a Super Charge.
